


Modern Language Spanish Level 2
Expanding Language Skills Through Community, Culture, and Everyday Life
Spanish Level 2 builds on foundational skills to help learners move from simple exchanges to more sustained, purposeful communication. Aligned with Georgia Performance Standards (GPS), ACTFL and CEFR standards, this course supports students in developing Intermediate Low proficiency through task-based learning, cultural exploration, and real-world application.
Learners will deepen their understanding of Spanish by engaging with global themes such as community, daily routines, health, and the arts. Through interactive modules and essential questions, students will explore how language connects us to the world around us—at home, in public spaces, and across cultures.
Course Length: 14 Weeks Format: Hybrid (Asynchronous + Live Sessions) Prerequisite: Completion of Spanish Level 1 or equivalent Target Proficiency: Novice High → Intermediate Low (ACTFL) CEFR Alignment: A2 → B1

Module 1: Mi Comunidad – My Community
Describe places in the community and their functions
Talk about local events, services, and roles
Compare communities across Spanish-speaking cultures
Module 2: La Rutina Diaria – Daily Routine
Narrate daily activities using reflexive verbs and time expressions
Discuss habits, responsibilities, and personal schedules
Interpret and create visual schedules and journal entries
Module 3: En El Consultorio – At the Doctor’s Office
Describe symptoms, health concerns, and remedies
Role-play medical visits and interpret health-related texts
Explore cultural perspectives on wellness and healthcare
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
